Schrödinger’s Cat

.

The deeply ingrained habit of

separating one’s sense of self from experience,

is possibly the last fixed position to yield.

Without close examination, one takes for granted

that one is the entity that experiences phenomena:

They are something that happens to one.

.

The veil between world and self, may become so transparent

that peace, joy and spontaneous wonder permeate through,

but so long as there is a self, enjoying these benefits,

there is further to go.

One may have let go of multiple fixed ideas of self,

yet any unquestioned sense of being separate

fractures the integration of wholeness.

.

So long as one needs to make effort to maintain the balance,

and make choices to sustain one’s realisation,

then choice and effort remain the tools of control.

One is still in the driving seat,

even if the direction of travel is now unknown.

Find the foundation of all experience,

where phenomenal expression is choiceless and effortless,

then the Doer ceases to function. It is redundant.

.

‘What is’, is now just ‘What is’, revealed to itself.

One has merged with the totality of experience,

and what is present is simply Presence:

Wholeness as Emptiness made manifest:

An eternally still source from which bubbles

ceaselessly changing creation, an endless spring.

Infinite potential,

simultaneously manifesting and yet awaiting fulfilment,

like a cosmic Schrödinger’s Cat.

.
