About
An Introduction
I sit on my meditation cushion every morning, knowing one thing only:
that I know nothing.
This is not a smug, self-satisfied “not knowing”, not pride in ignorance.
I sit with a genuine question-mark resting in the heart of my awareness,
expecting nothing, but receptive to anything arising.
Sometimes as I sit, there is only silence and stillness
pregnant with implicit depth, a gentle blessing of empty Presence,
and sometimes that question-mark opens up a view
revealing deeper questions and answers
that dance together, emerging from my experience in that moment.
They feel like gifts from beyond any sense of limitation,
yet, they are nothing other than the depth of experience itself,
giving words and voice attempting to convey an understanding
that cuts through the grasping mind and unlocks the heart.
They are words that have the power to change.
In writing down each revelation, I am changed
and the world I perceive also changes as my understanding deepens.
Yet nothing is acquired. It is a stripping away of the non-essential,
and I am left empty in wonder at whatever is unfolding before me.
These ‘Facets’ are born from meditation and contemplation.
I respectfully suggest that they be read as a source of inspiration
for the reader’s own contemplation and meditation.

THE COLLECTION
I am continually adding to this collection,
as my own enquiry explores the many different aspects
of what it means to live an illumined, embodied life.
They are all interconnected, yet specific to circumstance.
The essence they carry is simplicity.
The unfolding is simplicity manifesting
through the multiplicity of the creation
and the complexity of the human condition.
I see them as nuggets, individual yet all carrying gold,
jewels strung out along Indra’s net, each reflecting the others,
and as the faces of a diamond, refracting the core through each facet.
.
Each piece is also a ‘contract of obligation’.
They are gifts from my inner voice.
Writing them down and sharing them
is a commitment to embody them.
.
THE COMMUNITY
From time to time,
I will be inviting guests to contribute to this collection:
maybe a piece of writing, maybe a photograph or artwork,
or something that resonates with the ethos being explored.
Over time, I hope to grow a community of like-minded souls,
all connected at a deep level by the understanding
of our universal original faces.
