.
A precious jewel lies at the centre
of each node in the net of Indra.
Each jewel reflects all others and is intimately
connected to each and every other jewel.
.
Each jewel is a locus of Being.
Most jewels are only truly aware of themselves
as self-contained, autonomous entities,
unaware of the vast, infinite, multi-dimensional
interconnected, interdependent network
of which they are an intimate, integral part.
.
As each locus of Being awakens to itself,
it awakens to its place in the network:
eventually its identity as a single isolated node
is subsumed into that of the entire network,
beyond any concept of limitation,
beyond any sense of a singular identity,
yet it still retains the specific viewpoint
of its place in the network.
.
Each of us, as a locus of Being
is both the whole and the part,
the entire net and the specific jewel.
Both are absolutely true.
The unbroken integrity of the All
encompasses and embraces
the richness, diversity, depth
and intricate, infinite complexity
of its parts, weaving them into
a profoundly simple whole.
