The Flood

.

The realisation that “I Am That” is a profound shift of perspective.

.

One has finally come “Home” to the centre of one’s lived experience,

and the wanderings in the desert have only enriched that realisation.

.

The fixed succession of static moments transforms into flow

and one realises a dynamic living engagement with the unfolding

that is best described as Care.

.

Yet there is something still fixed in that perspective.

A powerful all-pervading concept at the foundation of experience

of a deeply personal, static still centre at the turning of the wheel,

a sense that Emptiness, the undefined No-Thing-Ness is a Thing in itself,

ultimately that Home is a fixed safe place.

‘

Recognising the almost hidden, before thought,

deeply rooted sense of being a Self

all ideas of being Home are swept away in the flood

and all bearings are lost forever.

One is so transparent to the unfolding

that the peace of endless rest

and the thrill of embracing the kaleidoscope of existence

become entwined, the poles of a magnet: the same but different.
