.
“Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form”
is a much-quoted Buddhist text.
Many commentaries have and continue to
eloquently debate its meaning.
.
Gazing deeply into my own experience,
how does it speak to me?
My awakening realisation was that
things were not as they appeared to be:
the world ‘arising’ within awareness,
the ground of being, not a thing in itself,
but the ever-present source of all things.
.
What is meant by emptiness?
It cannot be a space with dimensions.
Even thinking deeply about the concept
unravels the concept itself.
.
Emptiness is infinite, unformed,
dimensionless potential, prior to existence.
Form is the medium in which
that potential is unleashed.
Embodiment as a sentient being
is how infinite potential
awakens to itself.
.
Manifestation is the Mirror
in which the infinite eternal unknown
reveals its creative impulse
in an explosive celebration of itself.
