The walls of the known become transparent when one realises
that the living context is a vast ‘Field of Unknowing’,
with no edges, no centre and no solid platform to provide certainty.
.
One discovers trust, and from trust emerges spontaneity.
To one who has relied for a lifetime, or longer,
upon “knowing beforehand”, this is a leap of faith in every moment.
.
Endless humility is required,
for this is a path of transformation via purification.
Actions always reveal their origins.
.
The Field of Unknowing shines a very bright light
which exposes the shadows and dark corners in one’s being.
It is a rare individual in whom revelation wipes the slate completely clean.
.
Trust and humility working in tandem
expose all one’s hidden places to the purity of the clear light of Being,
revealing an inner compass, sensitive to any constriction of self.
.
When the choiceless becomes a negotiation of choices,
gentle alarm bells ring.
One walks a fine line to remain free of the brambles of selfishness.
.
For spontaneous action to be appropriate action, one’s inner compass,
one’s deepest ethical sense beyond right and wrong, must also awaken,
and shine brightly enough to reveal the next step,
just as you take it, into the eternal unfolding.
