Five Haiku on Dissolution

.

PETRICHOR

Earth breathes after rain.

Drip-Drip-Drip: startled robin

thrums its beating wings.

.

GRAVITY WELL

Buddha sits—ever still.

Jewel’d stars above, whirl in slow arc.

Held breath—moon rises.

.

BURNING UP

Incense glows: smoke swirls.

Ambitions drift and dissolve—

Centre clears: stillness reigns.

.

LETTING GO

Strands of Self, poignant:

Deepest loss and gentle joy—

Balance point: Here. Now.

.

EMPTY

Unmoving: Centre lost.

Absence brims full of Presence:

Chattering birdsong.
