Timeless

.

Reality doesn’t come with labels.

In eternity there are no special moments.

.

We have set a timer on our unfolding:

a stopwatch which slices our experience of time

into a series of stills, jerkily revealed one after another,

with special tags like ‘Christmas Day’, ‘New Year’s Eve’

and ‘Many Happy Returns’.

.

The Past morphs instantaneously into the Future

and the Present is squeezed out of existence.

“Stop the Clock!”

Escape from its relentless treadmill.

You are not here serving a prison sentence for life!

.

Look very carefully.

When did this present moment begin or end?

You cannot catch it.

This ever-present moment “Now”

is not a fleeting instant on a timeline,

it is open-ended, it is flow,

nothing is static. It is an unfolding

where past and future are fragile ideas,

insubstantial thoughts and dry concepts

that have no traction.

.

Rooted in profound stillness,

this present moment has duration

but it cannot be measured,

for there are no divisions, no quanta,

no discontinuities.

It cannot be caught,

and any attempt to define it

is already old before it can be declared.

.

It is vitally alive, electric in its presence

for we are the ever-moving leading edge

that faces into the invisible, unknowable infinite potential,

and births it as the ‘visible’ creation,

a kaleidoscopic unending revelation.

of perfect newness that can never become old

for change is its eternal nature.

.

We are not changed.

We ARE Change.

And yet we leave not a trace or imprint

upon Eternity.

There is no trail behind us.

No footsteps in the sand to mark our passage.

It is as if nothing ever happened:

Like waking up from a dream.
