Perception works perfectly well
when it isn’t owned by anyone.
No-one ‘turned-it-on’.
It continues effortlessly,
at once perfectly still and all encompassing,
whilst yet flowing and flowering and unfolding
in a dance of extended duration,
without an overture, an interval or a grande finale.
No choice has been made to be aware.
.
It just ‘Is’ all by itself.
.
A self, as perceiver or witness
is redundant, superfluous. It adds nothing.
In fact, it is a distraction,
merely part of the picture, never its source.
Still, there is a subtle,
all pervading sense of Presence,
Awareness, awake to its own mystery.
Any attempt to grasp it or own it
is like trying to catch water in a sieve.
